DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES:
The position of Registered Nurse shall be a criteria-based position with well defined responsibility. Position responsibility shall be defined by, but not limited to the following:
• Assumes clinical and management responsibility for clients assigned to their care
• Assists management in establishing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures relevant to nursing practice and standards in accordance with local, state and federal regulatory guidelines.
• Assists in evaluating and monitoring of the work performances of all home health aides.
• Assumes responsibility for quality insurance standard relevant to clinical nursing practice for clients under direct care.
• Assists in the investigation and documentation of all complaints relevant to nursing practice and reports stated complaints to the Director of Nursing or Administrator
• Assists in the ongoing staff development of nursing personnel through continuing education
• Assists in the development and implementation and maintains an ongoing evaluation relevant to clinic competence for all home health aides
• Ensures that nursing licenses, health profiles, and clinical skills are kept current
• Ensures that all clinical care medical records are kept current and relevant to the clinical care course of the client. This will include, but is not limited to: Plan of Care & Treatment, Physician Orders, Discharge Summary, Case Conference Reports, Client Service Agreements & Medication Profiles
• Ensures that documentation in the medical record reflects care provided, client response, educational interventions, and support for financial reimbursement for services/care provided
• Ensures compliance with Infection Control Plan
• Establishes, implements, and maintains direct working relationships with physicians relevant to direct client care issues
• Assists in the development of new market development to maximize optional client care
• Plans with other agencies and develops interagency work and agreements to ensure best coordination and use of resources in the community
• Maintains cost effective utilization of client supplies and soft goods and durable medical equipment provided by agency
• Controls all supplies, equipment and personnel assigned to the nursing area
• Performs other duties assigned

Minimum education and experience
Required: at least 18 years old, high school diploma or GED, completion of all state-required early childhood training classes, one year of experience in child care. Successful applicants are expected to continue formal training to meet minimum standards requirements.
Preferred: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, two years experience in child care
Essential duties
1. Ensure a safe and healthy environment at all times by monitoring child areas for hazards or sanitation problems and correcting problems immediately or removing children from hazard until it can be corrected
2. Provide appropriate adult supervision for all children at all times (children are NEVER to be left alone or permitted to leave the classroom without an adult)
3. Provide a stimulating, cognitively challenging classroom environment that encourages exploration and experimentation for children of varying ability levels
4. Provide experiences and training to help children develop and practice good health/safety habits
5. Develop and follow a daily schedule that incorporates good early childhood practices (balance of child/teacher initiated activities, active and passive, etc) and accommodates center needs for shared-use areas
6. Plan and execute appropriate learning experiences indoors and outside in accordance with the curriculum provided for that group
7. Provide language and literacy activities (transitions, routines, outdoor play, etc) throughout the entire day
8. Evaluate and assess individual child progress at least quarterly using curriculum tools and anecdotal notes
9. Maintain a portfolio of work for each child that documents growth in language, cognitive skills, and creativity
10. Modify curriculum and activities to meet the needs of children as identified by child evaluation and assessment
11. Develop a cooperative working relationship with families
12. Conduct formal family conferences yearly with each family in your class
13. Maintain accurate and timely records of accidents, illnesses, medication, attendance, observations, assessments, and family conferences
14. Meet all regulatory requirements including annual training, skills, classroom arrangement, etc.
15. Cooperate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the center
16. Attend staff and parent meetings as scheduled.

2. Maintain common supply areas in a neat orderly fashion, notifying the education director of materials that need to be ordered or re-ordered
